By the grace of God, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod was blessed with the most outstanding Lutheran theologian of the 19th century as its first President.  Walther's works set the highest standards of Biblical scholarship in expounding:

1. The doctrine of Justification,
2. The proper distinction between preaching Law and Gospel,
3. Church and Ministry,
4. The Church Independent of the State,
5. The Priesthood of all Believers,
6. The Pastoral Office,
7. The Proper Administration of the Sacraments,
8. The authority of the Scriptures,
9. Pastoral theology and practice, and more.

Each speaker at the Conference will address the need to maintain correct doctrine and practice in the LCMS.

Each speaker is also invited to present resolutions that will help affirm
and maintain the teaching and practice of the Synod's first president at the2004 Convention of the LC-MS.

=====
Arrangements:

Those attending from out of town should make room
arrangements at one of the many motels in the area.  Hope Lutheran Church is about 2 and 1/2 miles from Lambert Field.  Call 314-429-3808 for shuttle service from the airport to Hope Lutheran Church.

This conference is for lay people and pastors:

1. Who want to preserve the rich heritage of the Reformation as reaffirmed
in America by C. F. W. Walther, the Synod's first president.

2. Who want their congregations governed by voters' assemblies and not
Boards of Directors, CEOs, or pastors who believe that their ordination
places them above or equal to their congregations.

3. Who want to keep the practice of Walther's doctrine of "Church and
Ministry" in their own congregations.

4. Who want congregational voters' assemblies to maintain their authority
over doctrine and practice, and control and ownership of church property.
